The Kingston Water Department will continue Phase II of the flushing program on Wednesday, April 23, 2008. Flushing will be done during the day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 P.M. All flushing will be done weather permitting and we expect this phase of the work will continue for several weeks. Work will begin on Main Street – north of Route 3, Brook Street, Elm Street, Landing Road, River St. and Summer Street – work includes all side streets. Customers may notice a drop in pressure while the hydrants are flowing. Since this area includes many older water mains, special care should be taken regarding discoloration of water. This may occur if you draw water while we are flushing water near your home. If this occurs, you should wait until we are out of the area and then run cold water for several minutes from the faucet closest to the meter.
