 Please Note:  On October 9, 2007, the Board of Selectmen
voted to change the name of the Kingston Secure Energy
Future Committee to Green Energy Committee to more
accurately reflect the goals and mission of the committee.

The Kingston Secure Energy Future Committee submitted the following report to the Board of Selectmen.  The Selectmen voted to adopt the goals and recommendations of the KSEFC to reduce fuel consumption by 20% during the Fiscal Year 2008.

Great News!  

Report on Fuel Consumption -Town of Kingston KSEFC

One month of data has been compiled since the recording of the Proclamation by the Town of Kingston for a 20% reduction in fuel consumption.

  • Total diesel consumption by the entire fleet was down 46% during the month of August
  • Total gas consumption by the entire fleet was down by 25% during the month of August
  • Total gas & diesel fuel was down approximately 1300 gallons
  • Total dollar savings for the Town of Kingston was approximately $3,200.00
  • Total reduction of pounds of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere is 70,400 lbs  
  • Total combined fuel reduction for gas and diesel by
    the Town of Kingston down 28%!
