Come and see Rita Parisi bring the renowned
author to life here at the Kingston Public Library.
Rita has adapted several of Jewett's short stories as
a theatrical storytelling presentation.
The stories are: The Landscape Chamber, The Gray
Man, Lady Ferry. The three themes of this program
are: curses, death and immortality.
Sarah Orne Jewett, a native of South Berwick,
Maine was one of New England's most prolific female
regional writers of the 19th century. Her short
stories mirror the everyday lives of New Englanders;
often reflecting the mysterious and supernatural
atmosphere of this region. |
